Barber license

Barber license in Illinois is issued by the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation. To be eligible to appear for the licensure examination conducted by the department, the applicant should be at least sixteen years of age and have completed the eighth grade of school or its equivalent. He or she should have additionally completed 1500 hours of training at a licensed barber school. The examination assesses the candidate’s practical and theoretical knowledge of barbering.
